This is one of the most iconic ties in Akira Naka Ryu.
A long time ago, as s model, I tried that pose. Boy, its s tough one! I seemed to keep losing my grip and really suffered and struggled during this pose.
As a rigger, I haven't done it many times. And I know I can't do it with just anyone. Only with people I trust, and whom have complete faith in me knowing every thing will be alright.
When my friend suggested I tie him like this (picture attached at the end) my first reaction was "it an extremely tough one". But he was totally in, "the harder the better" he responded.
"Ok" I sighed. "But don't say I didn't warn you".
So we did it! As a matter of fact, we did a full sequence. I didn't just tie him this way and put him down. We did a few transitions. He was deep in his sub space after we finished.
Another world. Another challenge. Another way to let go and face his demons. He was quiet the entire time, clearly lost in his own thoughts.
During his after care I asked him if this time was tougher than the last time. He thought for a moment, and finally said "this time was different. tough but different".
